This ought to be on the front page of Alpine Scout Camp’s site, and on nycscouting.org, too, but the only announcement I’ve seen is on FaceBook.

We are happy to inform you that unit camping can fully return to the Alpine Scout Camp. The family camping requirement has been lifted at Alpine. Although parents/guardians are always welcome to camp with their children it is no longer a requirement on property. Standard scouting ratios still apply according to the safe guide to scouting. Units can camp at Alpine because it holds a year round youth camp license and is meeting the requirements for operation.

Camping elsewhere in New Jersey may be possible but requires prior approval by emailing covid19@nycscouting.org so that verification is made that the facility meets the license requirements to allow unit camping.

According to Chris Guarniere from GNYC, the last paragraph is due to an archaic NJ DOH rule that they’ve started enforcing. It’s unclear if the licensing clause refers only to commercial campgrouds, or also to things like state campgrounds, public lands.
