Important Updates for All Ten Mile River Campers

Posted on June 9, 2021September 3, 2021 By Roland Roberts No Comments on Important Updates for All Ten Mile River Campers

Last Updated on September 3, 2021 by admin

In case you haven’t heard directly from GNYC, the following email went out last week.

Attention all Ten Mile River Scout Campers and Leaders,

As you may be aware, New York’s Governor Cuomo has issued Executive Order #202 in response to the covid-19 public health emergency, and this has modified requirements that are normally issued by the department of health to attend a children’s camp, as well as provided guidelines for youth camp operations.

The leadership team of TMR has prepared this document for units and campers with the goal of helping all those attending this summer to understand how these guidelines will impact camp operations, beginning with our medical form and check-in process. The document will continue to be updated as guidelines may change. Last edited 5/27/21.

Please use our website form at www.tenmileriver.org/feedback2021 to share thoughts or ask questions relating to this document.

Ten Mile River places the safety of our campers, leaders, and staff as a priority – we know that we will be able to meet these guidlines while delivering an incredible program for our Scouts this summer. You can help us do that by reviewing the guidlines and making a plan to complete the requirements outlined in the updated Medical Form.

Additional camp-specific communications with guidance for parents and leaders regarding program and merit badge information will be released and delived via this email system by Camp Keowa, Camp Ranachqua, and Camp Aquehonga in the coming days. Camps will be publishing their daily program plans with merit badges and time for Scouts to discover and utilize the great opportunities that our camps provide. We are prepared for these plans to be flexible and will continue to update as guidlines and regulations call for it.
