Did you know your district has an activities committee that meets pretty much every month?
Like everything in scouting, the bulk of the work is done by unpaid volunteers, just like you. Currently, Breukelen and Lenape Bay are functioning as a single group to try to plan activities. And your activities committee wants you!
Seriously, if your first thought is “just shoot me now, I already have too much on my plate” then we hear you (and we’re saying the same thing ourselves). But what the activities committee really wants is for you to get involved where we can help you get better as scouting skills and transfer those to your unit.
Let’s take the upcoming camp-o-ree on June 10-12, 2022. We already have plans for several activities to up your unit’s game when it comes to outdoor navigation skills. If you’re a unit leader, we want to work directly with you to help you get ready for the event, contact us at activities@lenapebaydistrict.org, or come to the April Roundtable. If you are a registered Search and Rescue merit badge counselor, we want to talk to you about how to improve/modify some of our events so they will qualify for the merit badge, contact us at activities@lenapebaydistrict.org.
Our upcoming schedule is not a secret. In fact, we’ve put it down below. Council events (like Summer Camp) are already on the calendar at nyscouting.org/calendar. Other events are not set up for registration yet, but will be. So start marking your calendars.
